KTM's class-leading sports machine returns for 2020, once again proving that good things can come in small packages. This sharp and sleek package takes inspiration directly from KTM's Moto3 efforts and reworks those characteristics into a usable motorcycle that that marries together top-end sports performance with everyday practicality, making it a great ride for hammering around the twisties, but with a fuel-economy that makes it a viable daily commuting machine.
Powered by KTM's range-topping 373cc single-cylinder fuel-injected four-stroke engine, the 2020 KTM RC 390 is arguably the class-leader in small capacity sports performance. In terms of power, the RC 390 produces a potent 41 horsepower and 26 lb-ft of peak torque, which can propel the RC 390 to a top speed of over 104 mph. It's fast, but it also delivers power where you want and when you need it most, making it an ideal tool for cruising around the city on.
Building on the RC 390's incredible Moto3-derived DNA, KTM has also treated the small-capacity racer with a number of impressive and unexpected additions, such as a slipper clutch to aid gear changes and improve throttle opening, and ride-by-wire throttle control for smooth acceleration. ABS is also standard equipment on the 2020 RC 390, but riders can easily disable it for real racing situations.
For 2020, the KTM RC 390 is available in a slick and stylish black and white color scheme with customary KTM orange accents. The MSRP is $5549.00.

2020 KTM RC 390 Features
The KTM RC 390 engine not only delivers bountiful torque and punchy acceleration, but also good manners in everyday use, all with outstanding fuel economy. This lightweight, compact engine really packs a punch and with 32 kW (44 hp) it's the sportiest option out there for A2 riders. Thanks to the ingenious intake design and the meticulous fuel injection system, the KTM RC 390 is ready to leave the rest of the city traffic behind at the twist of a wrist.
Exactly like they did in the RC8 R, the four valves in the cylinder head of the KTM RC 390 are actuated by two overhead camshafts and ultra-hard, carbon coated cam followers, providing reliability and longevity despite the engine's high power output.
Not only does the slipper clutch open when the engine back-torque becomes too high, it also assists when you open the throttle. The former prevents rear wheel chatter when braking sharply or decelerating – and gives the wheel just that bit of braking for a controlled rear wheel slide. The latter allows the clutch to be pulled and controlled with just one trigger-happy finger – saving you energy and offering greater control – just like the pros.
It's the guarantee of a smooth throttle response, more than simply the absence of a throttle cable. The KTM RC 390's ride-by-wire ensures perfect delivery of the readily available and plentiful torque. It also electronically translates the throttle commands of the rider into throttle valve positions, perfectly suited to the riding conditions, making this the perfect crossover bike for both track and road riding.
A bike as compact and nimble as this one, deserves to pack a solid punch. With 32 kW (44 hp) and a dry weight of just 149 kg, we did it justice. Thanks to the ingenious intake and exhaust system, the 46 mm throttle body and the meticulous fuel injection system, this strong stroker is ready to leave the rest of the traffic behind at the twist of your wrist.
The KTM RC 390 matches all the A2 driver´s license requirements and thanks to its high power-to-weight ratio, it's one of the most dynamic options out there for new riders.
The intricate engine design, state-of-the-art injection electronics and the close-ratio, 6-speed transmission not only help the KTM RC 125 to achieve impressive performance, but also extremely low fuel consumption. At the same time, thanks to the regulated catalytic converter, it produces only minimal emissions.
